INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND DATA MANAGEMENT
Data-driven transformation, secure tomorrow
Investments in the AI-powered TTB Assistant and a modern data warehouse have elevated the Bank’s data-driven decision-making processes to a strategic level.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Türk Ticaret Bankası develops innovative and sustainable technology solutions to provide its customers with lean, fast, and preferred services. The Bank aims to facilitate exporters’ access to financing and position the Bank as a leader in digital transformation.
Application Development and Digital Transformation
In the 2025 operating period, the Digital Banking Platform was launched for customer use in February; comprehensive solutions for retail and corporate banking needs were implemented. During the year, the FAST, KOLAS, Credit Decision Tree, NOVA Securities Transactions, Corporate Website, Call Center Infrastructure, Commercial Credit Card, Salkım Account, and İGE-Backed Loans projects were successfully completed and launched.
To increase quality and speed in software development processes, a DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) transformation was carried out. The efficiency of the software development life cycle was increased and deployment times were shortened thanks to the established automation mechanisms. As part of quality assurance processes, a total of 726 automation scenarios were prepared and implemented for Core Banking, Web Services, and Digital Channels. In 2026, Source Code Management: the takeover processes for vendor source code are planned to be completed.
Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence
The Bank completed the installation of its Data Warehouse in February 2025 to strengthen its data-driven decision-making processes. The “Sales Performance Dashboards” provided to sales teams enable monitoring, via a single interface, of the number of active customers and customers with credit facilities, trend analyses, and financial changes.
In the field of artificial intelligence, pilot studies were conducted for the “TTB Assistant” project, enabling Head Office and branch personnel to submit their IT requests through a natural speech-based interface. Additionally, as part of “Data Governance and Security” efforts, a Data Dictionary application was launched, establishing capabilities for data ownership, security classification, and data profiling.
2026 Targets
Türk Ticaret Bankası aims to further advance its technological capabilities in 2026. In this context:
- Modern Data Ecosystem: Transitioning to a “Data Lakehouse” infrastructure to consolidate structured and unstructured data on a single platform and enhance analytical capabilities,
- Artificial Intelligence Projects: Implementing value-added projects such as “Exporter Advisor,” “Loan Underwriting Automation,” and “AI-Powered Asset Management,”
- Source Code Management: Completion of the takeover processes for supplier source codes,
- Digitalization: Plans include moving trade finance, loan, and collateral processes to digital channels to increase customers’ ability to perform self-service transactions.
IT Project Office and Governance
A Demand Management System, which manages all technology requests across the Bank from a single center, was launched, and projects began to be managed with an effective portfolio management approach in two-week planning periods (sprints). Through IT strategy and steering committee meetings, the alignment of projects with corporate goals was ensured, and prioritization decisions were finalized with the participation of senior management.
An IT Risk Inventory was created to manage information technology-related risks, enabling the monitoring of existing risks; preventive control mechanisms were implemented to increase resilience against potential threats. Coordination of processes related to internal and external audit findings was ensured, securing the effective progress of action plans. Additionally, the necessary feasibility studies were completed to conduct technology activities under the status of an R&D Center, and preparations were made to begin on-site R&D activities in 2026.
Efficiency in project management processes will be increased, and the corporate maturity level will be raised by expanding IT governance functions.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE
Infrastructure and Security Transformation
In 2025, the Bank took critical steps to modernize its technological infrastructure and enhance its security.
Network and Communication Infrastructure: A more secure, optimized, and high-performance Wide Area Network (WAN) was established between all branch and campus locations. A transition was made from the traditional MPLS structure to a modern, highly flexible, and centrally manageable SD-WAN architecture. Additionally, network and security infrastructure was successfully installed at 11 new branches and across four floors of the WBC Campus building, and transition processes were completed without interruption.
Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) Optimization: Adjustments were implemented in the ODA architecture to increase performance and security, and data flow was optimized to maximize system availability. The stability of the system was confirmed through functional verification tests conducted on the DRC infrastructure.
Data and Access Security: File-sharing areas aligned with the new organizational structure were created, and data security standards were enhanced by optimizing file server configuration and access control matrices. To minimize the risk of outages in critical services, an “Active-Active” operational structure was adopted for email servers and the remote access (SSL VPN) infrastructure, ensuring high availability. The security of sensitive documents has been enhanced by the “Secure Printing Infrastructure” implemented in the Head Office building. In Atlas Atom’s firewall management, transitioning to a centralized policy structure ensured consistency in rule sets and improved audit capability.
Email Management: A new archiving system was implemented for the long-term and secure preservation of corporate email traffic, thereby meeting legal compliance requirements and improving the user experience. Additionally, an “Active-Active” operational structure was adopted for email servers (Email Gateway), ensuring high availability and minimizing outage risks for critical services.
2026 and Future Targets
In 2026, Türk Ticaret Bankası aims to strengthen its technology vision with a “Zero Trust” architecture and advanced mobility solutions.
Mobile and Data Center Management: A central Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution is planned for implementation to manage corporate mobile devices. Depending on the service provider’s schedule, the relocation of the backup data center is anticipated, with simultaneous coordination to be ensured during this process.
Software Life Cycle: New Development (Dev) and Quality Assurance (QA) layers will be added to non-production environments to create a secure test area isolated from the production environment.
Communication and Security: A high-capacity bulk email sending platform will be integrated to support marketing activities. A “User Firewall” (User FW) architecture will be implemented to strengthen network segmentation.
High Availability: Business continuity will be maximized by carrying out projects to operate the main and DRC data centers in an Active/Active structure for critical channels.
