Mutlu Akpara holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master's degree in Financial Engineering, both from Boğaziçi University. He began his career in 1996 at Yapı Kredi Bank's Treasury Department through the Executive Training Program.

From 2005 to 2007, he served as Assistant General Manager at Standard Yatırım Menkul Kıymetler. Subsequently, between 2007 and 2012, he held the position of Assistant General Manager of Treasury and Capital Markets at Eurobank Tekfen, where he oversaw the activities of the Asset Liability Management, Markets, and Treasury Sales departments. Between 2012 and 2021, Mr. Akpara served as Assistant General Manager of Treasury, Capital Markets, and Financial Institutions at Burgan Bank Turkey. He actively participated in the bank's Executive Committee, Asset Liability Committee, Risk Committee, and IT Systems Steering Committee, contributing to strategic decision-making processes. Additionally, he served as a Board Member at Burgan Yatırım Menkul Değerler, Burgan Finansal Kiralama, and Burgan Portföy, which are subsidiaries of the bank. From 2022 to 2023, he worked as Assistant General Manager of Treasury at Şekerbank.

Mr. Akpara joined Türk Ticaret Bankası in April 2024 as Executive Vice President, Treasury and Financial Institutions
