Born in 1969 in Konya, Dr.Ahmet Karakaş received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business administration. He graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Gazi University in 1993 and completed his PhD in Accounting and Finance at Selçuk University in 2022.

Dr. Karakaş began his banking career at Halkbank in 1994 and held various roles in different departments, including Inspector, Head of Department, Chief of Private Secretariat, Commercial Branch Manager, Corporate Branch Manager, and Regional Coordinator. He has extensive experience in retail, commercial, and corporate banking, and specializes in strategy development, deposit and loan management, human resources processes, and operational efficiency. Dr.Karakaş has served as a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit Board at various subsidiaries and institutions and has also lectured on banking at Istanbul Commerce University and Hacı Bayram Veli University.

Dr. Ahmet Karakaş served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Türk Ticaret Bankası between April and October 2025 and was subsequently appointed Deputy General Manager of Human Resources at the Bank in October 2025.
