We have returned to Adapazarı, where we laid the foundations of our Bank in 1913 under the name Adapazarı İslam Ticaret Bankası, reclaiming our place in the city with the opening of our new branch.
The opening ceremony of our Adapazarı Branch, which has started operations at the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) Service Campus, was held with the participation of Adapazarı District Governor Musa Sarı, Adapazarı Mayor Mutlu Işıksu, Serdivan Mayor Osman Çelik, Türk Ticaret Bankası Board Member and General Manager İlker Yeşil, and Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) Chairman of the Board A. Akgün Altuğ, as well as numerous representatives of the export community.

A Story That Began 113 Years Ago Continues Where It Was Born
Our story began 113 years ago, when merchants and entrepreneurs from Adapazarı brought their capital together to support the development of trade. The initiative, which was undertaken with the vision of establishing the first bank with national capital in these lands, continues today with an approach that supports the spirit of entrepreneurship and the determination to create and produce.
Through our Adapazarı Branch, we aim to support exporters in Sakarya and the surrounding region in their growth journeys, expansion into new markets, and access to finance. The branch will provide export customers with both lending and non-lending banking products, while individual and other corporate customers will also have access to banking services such as deposits, investment and wealth management.
Bringing together physical and digital channels through a “phygital banking” approach, the Adapazarı Branch will strengthen Türk Ticaret Bankası’s presence in the region in line with its goal of becoming the primary bank for exporters.
İlker Yeşil: “113 Years Later, We Are Taking Our Place in the Land Where We Were Born”
Speaking at the opening ceremony, our General Manager İlker Yeşil emphasized that the Adapazarı Branch holds special significance as it brings together the Bank’s founding story with its export-focused mission in its new era. Yeşil continued:
“In 1913, the merchants and entrepreneurs of these lands brought their capital together to contribute to the development of trade and meet the financing needs of the region, laying the foundations of Türk Ticaret Bankası. Today, as a continuation of that same spirit, we are in Adapazarı with our mission of supporting Türkiye’s exports and exporters. Through our Adapazarı Branch, we aim to stand alongside exporters operating in the region and be a strong financial partner in their growth and expansion into new markets. In 2025, we provided TL 76.3 billion in financing support to exporters. This year, we aim to increase this figure to TL 110 billion. In line with this goal, we will continue expanding our branch network in the key centers of production and export activity.”

A. Akgün Altuğ: “We Are Witnessing a Story of Rebirth”
A. Akgün Altuğ, Chairman of the Board of SATSO, highlighted the historical significance of Türk Ticaret Bankası’s founding for Adapazarı and Sakarya. Altuğ continued:
“We are witnessing a very important story of rebirth. Türk Ticaret Bankası was born here in Sakarya under the name Adapazarı İslam Ticaret Bankası. We are excited to see a value whose foundations were laid with the same entrepreneurial spirit as that of the entrepreneurs who established our Chamber, and which later expanded nationally under the name Türk Ticaret Bankası, once again contributing to the Sakarya economy.
We are opening a branch that holds a meaningful place in Sakarya’s commercial history. We believe that, with the experience of TİM, our Bank will provide valuable services to Türkiye’s exporters, producers and economy, further strengthening their capabilities. The fact that the branch is located within the SATSO Service Campus is also particularly significant in carrying the historical legacy and spiritual value it represents into the present day.”
